Country star performs at the Clarke Dec. 19
Country
sensation George Canyon will be putting on his Home for Christmas
concert tour Dec. 19 at the Clarke Theatre.
Canyon
is an overnight sensation whose career hit warp speed when he
became a finalist in the USA Network’s Nashville Star
talent search, instantly becoming a household name to millions
of country fans. Soon after the show, he signed a record deal
with Universal South and a management deal with Garth Brooks’
manager.The actual truth behind the myth and the glitz is that
this Pictou County, Nova Scotia native has spent 14 years and
plenty of tough times performing and writing and working every
kind of job to float his music dreams.
Now
Canyon is still working on his dream, but his dream is a reality.
This
year he won the 2005 JUNO Country Recording of the Year for
the album, One Good Friend and then Sept. 25 at the Canadian
Country Music Awards (CCMA) he walked away with four trophies.
He won the CCMA awards for Male Vocalist of the Year, both Single
of the Year and SOCAN Song of the Year for the song No Name
and the prestigious fan-voted Cheez Whiz Fan’s Choice
award.
With
his hit single, Who Would You Be still high on the country charts,
Canyon is releasing a new single and video this month, as well
as putting the finishing touches on a Christmas album which
will be which will be released in time for the holiday season.

Boy Entertainment and Country 107.1 FM are jointly presenting
this show. Advance tickets from Ticketmaster are $25. Cost is
