“Jekyll and Nothing to Hide” Tour Making Stops Across Canada In Support Of “I Got This”

“We are not slowing down. We have a lot of music and we’re excited.” – George Canyon

“I Got This is a wonderful, measured and casually cool album of mature country music.” – The Calgary Herald

TORONTO, ON (February 18, 2016) – Canadian country legend and multiple JUNO Award winner George Canyon’s latest release “I Got This” is the #1 best-selling Canadian country album this week after its chart topping debut on the Country Albums Chart.  Additionally, the first single “I Got This” and album track “Daughters of the Sun” are the #1 and #2 best-selling Canadian country songs in Canada, according to Nielsen Soundscan for the week ending February 11, 2016.

“I Got This” marks Canyon’s eleventh full-length release in a career that spans nearly two decades and includes his GOLD-certified albums “One Good Friend”, “Classics”, “Somebody Wrote Love” and the Richard Marx produced “Better Be Home Soon”. The album continues to receive high praise with (The Calgary Herald) saying, “it recalls George Strait in its clean classic simplicity.” With nearly 400,000 albums sold worldwide, multiple major acting roles on television, and the 2015 launch of his ECMA and CCMA nominated radio show “Down East Country with George Canyon”, the singer-songwriter has cemented his status as a bona fide multi-faceted artist and performer.

A Nova Scotia native, Canyon was recently inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame and has been widely decorated with a number of accolades including multiple CCMA and ECMA Awards in addition to his multiple JUNO Award wins. As the national spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and a vocal advocate and supporter of the Canadian Military, Canyon was also presented with the CCMA “Humanitarian of the Year” Award in recognition of his philanthropic endeavours with both organizations.

Underscored by a #1 album debut, Canyon is currently in the midst of his highly praised “Jekyll and Nothing to Hide” tour which kicked off in Calgary earlier this month and travels coast to coast, wrapping in Ontario on March 20th. The tour is sponsored by the iconic Wrangler® western clothing brand.
